As the heart of the south, Atlanta is the place to be and will be for years to come. With a laundry list of projects in the works, Atlanta soon looks to triple its construction activities of the previous 6 years combined. Below is a list of current projects in the works that you can look forward to seeing complete in the next year or so:

  • Buckhead Atlanta: Past and present come together in this distinctive destination located in one of the nation's wealthiest zip codes - where heritage and modern sensibilities coexist - to affirm Buckhead as the jewel of Atlanta. Consisting of multiple distinctive buildings, each with a proprietary proportion and style, Buckhead Atlanta focuses on the relationship between buildings, people, automobiles and walkways. By balancing the pedestrian experience with automotive convenience, Buckhead Atlanta personifies the sophisticated, urban atmosphere.

  • Midtown Mile: The Midtown Mile aims to connect Midtown ATL with Buckhead by bringing new retail shops, fine dining, local art and greenery to the famed Peachtree Street. The Midtown Mile project hopes to bring inspired performances, exceptional museums and attractions, and dynamic festivals and events. All amid a vibrant, authentic and walkable urban environment, with the city's largest concentration of parks and green space.

  • Ponce City Market: As the largest adaptive reuse project in Atlanta's history, Ponce City Market will restore 1.1 million square feet of the historic Sears, Roebuck & Company building, creating a vibrant urban centerpiece that combines 300,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, 450,000 square feet of office space and 260 residential units.

  • Atlanta Belt Line Project: This sustainable project is providing a network of public parks, multi-use trails and transit by re-using 22-miles of historic railroad corridors circling downtown and connecting 45 neighborhoods directly to each other.

  • Elizabeth St Project (Inman Park): A mixed-use project that could transform the commercial heart of Inman Park by joining a groundswell of rental, dining and retail options while still maintaining the modern-meets-traditional aesthetics rich within the area.

  • Atlanta Ferris wheel: Paris had it, Pensacola has it and Atlanta will soon get it. The giant 180 ft Ferris wheel makes its home in the southern end of Centennial Olympic Park, in what is now a public parking lot located next to The Tabernacle. It will be within walking distance from World of Coca-Cola, the Georgia Aquarium, CNN Center, Philips Arena, the Georgia Dome, and the Georgia World Congress Center and will be a nice addition to the Atlanta skyline.
