The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta (ISB), in collaboration with industry thought leaders and practitioners, is pleased to announce the second annual ISB Leadership Institute (ISBLI). ISBLI trains and cultivates civic leaders who create positive and constructive changes within communities and add value in the public square. ISB is accepting applications for the 2019-2020 Institute now through June 10, 2019. More information and the application are available on ISB’s website: www.isbatlanta.org

ISBLI’s inaugural year provided a remarkable group of young leaders with opportunities to engage with community leaders in Georgia, gain skills and experience in advocacy and service, and build their networks of experts and influencers. The nine-month institute met one Saturday each month for sessions that included thought-leader led workshops, panel discussions and interactive learning. Verbatim testimonials from current ISBLI class members include: “(ISBLI) gave me opportunities to reflect and transform myself ... I’m more intentional in my speech … I’ve gained skills that enhance my ability to lead … I feel more prepared to undertake more challenging roles.”

For ISBLI’s 2019-2020 program year, plans are being made for the participants to practically apply their new skills through developing and implementing a service project for a community-based organization. This group project will allow selected human service agencies to interact with up-and-coming leaders from the Muslim community. Organizations interested in working with ISBLI should contact ISB executive director, Soumaya Khalifa.

ISBLI offers opportunities to improve leadership skills, become more effective community leaders and join a vibrant network of civic and community leaders. For more information, please contact Soumaya Khalifa at 678-523-5080.
