Islamic Speakers Bureau speakers partnered with the Clarkston library to feature books, films and digital media on Islam throughout the month of April.

To help promote the "Bridging Cultures Bookshelf on Muslim Journeys," ISB speakers Bassem Fakhoury, Zaynab Ansari, Dr. Rashid Naim, Alan Howard, Mansour Ansari, Ehab Jaleel and ISB friend and advisor Dr. Sandra Bird conducted presentations and showcased films on Islam at the Clarkston library location on April 6, April 13, April 20 and April 27. "The Muslim Journeys Bookshelf" is a collection of books, films, and other resources on the people, places, histories, beliefs, practices, and cultures of Muslims in the United States and abroad. ISB speaker Noor Abbady is the lead on coordinating this project.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is conducting a special initiative, Bridging Cultures, that engages the power of the humanities to promote understanding of and mutual respect for people with diverse histories, cultures, and perspectives within the United States and abroad.

The Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys is a project of the National Endowment for the Humanities, conducted in cooperation with the American Library Association, the Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies at George Mason University, Oxford University Press, and Twin Cities Public Television. Support was provided by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York. Additional support for the arts and media components was provided by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art.
