It is another achievement for Muslims in the metro-Atlanta area! On January 20th, members of the Roswell Community Masjid (RCM) held an official ribbon cutting ceremony, marking a major milestone in the Masjid's journey towards excellence in building bridges with the neighboring communities.

Mayor of Roswell Jere Wood performed the ribbon cutting in the presence of Georgia Representative Lynne Riley among dozens of attendees.

The graceful event started with RCM scouts flag ceremony, followed by short emotional remarks by RCM members who expressed how much RCM means for them.

Bassem Fakhoury introduced the mayor who thanked the community for transforming a vacant commercial property into a thriving center. The mayor also emphasized that communities are built by the virtue of education and religious institutions, as these centers define the character of a city.

Visitors from neighboring churches and synagogues expressed deep interest in working with RCM members in interfaith activities and community services. Leadership of other Islamic Institutions such as the Islamic Speakers Bureau, Islamic Center of North Fulton and Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam also graced the ceremony.

Later, guests were toured through the new community center and were briefed by various team members about RCM's services. The event ended around 5pm with refreshments and Asr (afternoon) prayers.
