MCG/Muslimah Connection presents their bi-annual Conference. This year's theme is a 20 Years Celebration of Service in the community.

Dr. Lamya Almas will be our Keynote Speaker.

Dr. Lamya Mohamed Abdullah Almas was a Fulbright Scholar from Yemen to the US for a Master's in English Literature from Iowa State University. She completed her Phd at the University of Minnesota for the same major as a Myron Allen Fellow. During her studies in Minneapolis she started Circle of Light, a Halaqa to build a sense of sisterhood among sisters. Currently she resides in Montgomery with her husband where she is an Associate Professor of English at Alabama State University. She also contributes to the Muslim community of Montgomery/Alabama through a sisters' halaqa entitled Sister Inspiring Sisters (SIS), and a Sister's Book Club.
