ABOUT THIS POP UP HEAD CHEF, HIMADRI CHOWDHURY
We are excited to announce that Chef Himadri Chowdhury of India Chef Restaurant will be cooking some of his extraordinary creations at Pop Up Raat. Yes, we are doing a pop up with our own Chef so that our guests can experience a menu like no other. Chef Chowdhury’s love of cooking began while growing up in Kolkata, India. He went to NIPS School of Hotel Management to learn cooking and hospitality education. He later had many cooking opportunities in Jordan, Dubai, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Chef Chowdhury’s experiences advanced in the US where he cooked for restaurants in Florida, Texas, and during a unique experience in the James Beard House in New York City.
ABOUT THE DESSERT GUEST CHEF, SAMINA SATTAR
Samina Sattar is a home cook from Atlanta whose talent in fusion cooking carried over to delectable Bangladeshi fusion desserts that locals in Atlanta have raved about. A speech language pathologist by day, Samina is passionate about providing intervention to those who haven’t found their voice, as well as treating patients who are impaired in the ability to consume delicious food, in which feeding therapy is required. This led to developing her quirky instagram page, @the_feeding_therapist, where she is able to express her love of feeding people and bringing people together, regardless of ability, disability, gender, religion, and status.
Experience Pop Up Raat, an evening of elevated and halal (yay!) South Asian fusion dishes, live classical Indian music, and great company. Raat, meaning ‘night,’ is a term widely used in the Indian subcontinent, particularly where these dishes originate. Chef Chowdhury, Samina, and their culinary team will be preparing a tasting menu of over 10 courses that will celebrate the many regions of India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and various western regions. Chef Chowdhury is excited to also provide a window into his preparation of the food for our esteemed pop-up guests to view right from their seats. The menu will be shared with guests before Saturday, February 1st.
TICKET PRICE: $65 (seats are very limited for this event)
Self parking is available in front of India Chef’s entrance and directly behind the building.
