WHAT IS FASTING 5K?
In 2013, a small group of individuals decided they can become their own charity action committee and completely through social media organized a multi- city 5K race during the month of Ramadan (a special month for Muslims where focus is placed on observing fasting, reflection, and charity), and raised several thousand dollars for local and international charities that aligned with their mission’s goal.
The individuals formed as the Fasting5k group and have decided on creating a network of communities that run every Ramadan for a single cause – to give youth everything they need to develop regardless of their location and socioeconomic status and, ultimately, to be the catalysts for change in the future.
