Event Description

Muhammad Ali will always be remembered as the greatest that ever lived. A legend in and out of the ring, his legacy as a boxing champion does not overshadow his many, varied fights for social justice. Using the fame brought to him through his athleticism, Ali championed for those without a voice, lending his name and status to struggles that, too often, went unnoticed and ignored by the general population. IMAN Atlanta invites you to work on a project to preserve this legend’s memory as a part of the "Muhammad Ali Way" renaming initiative. Join us as we attempt to rename Glenwood Ave SE, off of Moreland Ave to “Muhammad Ali Way” in remembrance. We’ll need inspired individuals who aren’t afraid to put boots on the ground, as we gather community support from those who this name change will affect, petition city council members, and garner the appropriate funds to make this dream a reality. Interested persons please join us Saturday June 25, 2016 @ IMAN Atlanta Office 3pm
