Event Description

On Wednesday, October 7, the Atlantic Institute will be hosting a talk titled "Jihad on Jihad: The Crisis of Isis," and Jihad Turk will be speaking about combating extremism from within Islam.

Jihad was a pivotal figure in the establishment of Bayan Claremont, a graduate school created with the intentions of educating Muslim scholars and religious leaders, and currently he is the standing President. Jihad was also the Director of Religious Affairs at the Islamic Center of Southern California. Currently, Jihad is working on obtaining his Ph.D with a focus on Islamic Law.

Jihad's works focus on the peaceful intentions of Islam; he also works to better the relationship between the Muslim community and communities of other faiths. Islamic reform movements and community leadership and development, especially as it pertains to the youth, are also some of Jihad's interests.

Tickets are $10 ahead of time, they will be $15 at the door!
