Greetings AMYP-ers!

When: October 3rd, 2013 (Thursday) @ 7:00pm Where: Murrys in Hurry (Zabihah & Muslim Owned) 880 Indian Trail Rd, Lilburn, GA 30047

Yall bring your A-game, empty stomachs, and competitive spirit every first Thursday of the month at 7:00pm. The meeting is free, and you are only responsible for what you eat. Please feel free to forward the invitation to friends and bring them. We look forward to seeing you!

We will be collecting books and supplies for our Books of Africa Event on Saturday October 19th!! Please help us by supporting a great cause and bringing anything from the list below!

Here is a little background on the Cause: Books for Africa collects, sorts, ships, and distributes books to students of all ages in Africa. The goal: to end the book famine in Africa. Books For Africa remains the largest shipper of donated text and library books to the African continent, shipping over 28 million books to 49 different countries since 1988. In 2012, 2.2 million books were shipped valued at $28.3 million to 22 African countries, with an additional 616 computers.

Books For Africa accepts: Popular or classic fiction and nonfiction reading books (soft and hard cover). 20 years old or newer primary, secondary, and college textbooks (soft and hard cover). 1995 or newer reference books such as encyclopedias and dictionaries. 15 years old or newer medical, nursing, IT, and law books. Bibles are sent when requested by African recipients. School/office suppliespaper, pencils, pens, wall charts, maps, etc. Acceptable books are gently used and relevant to an African reader.

Books For Africa does NOT accept: Magazines or journals or any kind. Home decorating, wedding, or cookbooks. Ethnocentric books, such as the biography of Abraham Lincoln or the history of Ohio. Foreign language books except for French books. French novels and dictionaries are welcome. American history or civics.
