Event Description

Dear Beloved Sister,

“You are a beautiful woman”. You were created beautiful, inside and out! A legacy of “Celebration” began 31 years ago, at the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam, to celebrate women through modest fashion. Ourshow acknowledged to the world that Muslim women can be adorned with beautiful garments, remain modest, and be proud of who they are.

We are still celebrating that legacy, keeping it alive, and would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your community to join us May 5 through May 7, 2017. The Atlanta Masjid’s fashion show 2017 theme is “Africa to New Africa”. Our theme embodies the history of African and African American people over centuries. It illuminates our past and honors our present. Over the years, we’ve made statements in fashion from across the world. We’ve impacted women through fashion, faith, esteem, and the ability for women to love themselves as beautiful Muslimat. Our fashion show has expanded to being a vessel for cross-generational exchange while offering knowledge regarding modesty, a space for sisterly love, and cultivation of womanhood. Be a part of fashion history as we embark upon our journey from “Africa to New Africa”.
