The event was started to help bring more attention to the issue of domestic violence in the Islamic community. The incidents of Muslim women being murdered by husbands in the US is on the rise. Sometimes innocent family members also die in the violence. We have lost children, women and men due to domestic abuse in many of our households. We are told about 5,000 women die worldwide annually due to domestic violence. We come together as brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, wives and husbands to show that Islam does not support or condone domestic abuse.

The Atlanta program will be hosted by Muslim Men Against Domestic Violence-Atlanta and Asadullah at the Dawah Center of America (formerly Masjid Ar Rahman) 1631 Westhaven Dr. Atlanta, GA Saturday, February 15 beginning at 2 pm, in shaa Allah.
