Kick off your new year by joining The Atlanta Muslim Running club’s FREE 6 week training program in preparation for this year’s Hunger Walk/Run, beginning this Sunday (01/22). Whether you’re simply motivated to run rather than walk at the event, or you want to get into shape, let this training program be the inspiration you need to develop a healthier lifestyle this year. The 6 week program gives you just enough time to prepare for the walk/run that will take place on March 5.
Two years ago, my dad joined the AMRC as one of its first members. After the club’s Facebook membership exceeded 400, the AMRC realized that many more want to join in, but felt hesitant because they were given the impression that the group was made up of only runners, and not beginners like themselves. As a result, the founders came up with the idea of ‘Couch to 5k’ to let the people know that all levels are welcome, even couch potatoes :-)
Joining the AMRC allows you to broaden your social circle, as the club is made up of a diverse group of people who have come together with the common goal of improving their lives in one aspect or another. The club was founded by beginner runners like you, who wish to help you work towards gradually building up the habit of developing an active lifestyle..
However, we know many people may not be able to attend the event this year. Nevertheless, the AMRC hopes to inspire you to join our club and benefit from the gift of running. With running comes several life-long benefits-from reducing your risk of cancer, to simply living a healthier and happier life. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, run the 5k and join the Atlanta Muslim Running Club!
