With Eid al Adha quickly approaching, our community is preparing celebrations throughout Georgia. The next few days will be filled with family gatherings, prayer, and our combined hopes for the safe return of our Georgia Hajj pilgrims. In the spirit of sacrifice and community outreach, IMAN Atlanta will be having a Fresh Expression Eid Block Party on Sep. 2nd from 2 to 6 P.M.

Known as the Inner-City Muslim Action Network, IMAN Atlanta is one of the few organizations that combines the Islamic imperative towards social justice, activism and the creative arts. IMAN is a non-profit organization founded by students, residents and activists based in the South side of Chicago. Seeing a need to address the problems on inner city communities, they came together to develop ways to fight poverty, violence and urban blight. Last year, IMAN was established in Atlanta, bringing their grassroots activism to the South.

The Eid Block Party will be at the IMAN Atlanta headquarters on 1007 Cascade Rd SW, Atlanta, GA 30311. Come out and get to know your neighbors in West End Atlanta. The event is for all ages so bring your family for a fun Saturday event. There will be spoken word and hip-hop performances, along with kids games, and free food. Visual artists, vendors, R & B singers, and live drummers will also be in attendance!

Come out and flex your creative muscles for the IMAN Atlanta community art project. An outdoor art project will be provided to visitors to express themselves through paint—with using imagery or poetry. The choice is yours!
