The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta (ISB) (http://isbatlanta.org) is pleased to announce the launching of our 2016 "40 Under 40 Georgia Muslims" initiative (http://isbatlanta.org/40-under-40/), to recognize individuals for their impact on the community at large.
Enter yourself or nominate a colleague, family member, or friend who positively challenges those around him/her and instills passion, conviction, and confidence in others. We are looking for men and women known for their abilities to lead and adapt, collaborate, inspire, and advance.
"We are very excited about the 40 under 40 initiative!" says Soumaya Khalifa, founder and executive director of the The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta. "I believe that we will be able to tell a tremendous story about the contributions of Georgia Muslims in many fields and in many ways. I also believe the selected individuals will inspire us all. This is part of the ISB's 'Continuing the Legacy and Changing the Narrative' initiative that started with the 100 Influential Georgia Muslims.”
The deadline for submitting nominations is May 1, 2016 and can be entered on the 40 Under 40 Georgia Muslims website here (http://isbatlanta.org/40-under-40/). Nominations will be accepted in the following categories: business, medicine and science, engineering and IT, philanthropy, education, media/arts, religion, community service, law, sports, other.
Muslims who are under 40 years old as of December 31, 2016 who either work or live in Georgia or are from Georgia are eligible for nomination for the 40 Under 40 Georgia Muslims, and anyone is eligible to submit nominations. Recipients of the 100 Influential Georgia Muslims are not eligible for nomination.
The 2016 “40 Under 40 Georgia Muslims” will be judged by an independent panel of judges selected from leaders in the wider community for the following criteria: uniqueness of the person’s role, impact of their position/accomplishment on society at large, academic achievement, and honors and recognitions.
To enter or to nominate someone: Complete and return the nomination form on the ISB website. After receiving the entry form, a representative from the Islamic Speakers Bureau will contact the nominated individual to request additional information that supports their nomination.
The deadline for nominations is May 1, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. The awards will be presented at a gala on October 1.
