Atlanta Muslim Community Works Together Against Hunger

On Sunday, March, 10, 2013, thousands of people will come together to raise awareness and funds to help fight hunger in the Atlanta Community. The Atlanta Muslim community is coming together for the Atlanta Community Food Bank Hunger Walk. This walk is the 5k event that began in 1984 and still continues today. The money raised is expected to feed 1 in 6 people who face hunger in the community. This effort organized was organized by the The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta and included the following organizations:

  1. Al-Falah Academy
  2. Islamic Society of South Atlanta
  3. Masjid Al-Ihsan
  4. Roswell Community Masjid
  5. Community of Bosniaks
  6. Masjid Bilal Ibn Rabah
  7. Islamic Community Center of Atlanta
  8. Hamzah Islamic Center
  9. Ilm Academy
  10. Islamic Center of Marietta

The organizations listed above were drop-off locations for people to leave food cans and other non-perishable food items. To participate in the hunger walk, visit their events page.
